Travelogue: Trip to Perth Part 3 - Mandurah & Perth

The next place we went to during our short Perth trip was to Mandurah. Mandurah is the second-largest city in Western Australia and is located approximately 72 kilometres (45 mi) south of the state capital, Perth. The reason I decided to stop at Mandurah is that  dolphins frequently swim by the city, and dolphin watching is very popular there. Since my parents had not seen it before, I thought it would be a great chance to do some dolphin watching there on our way back from Albany back up north to Perth.

We went on the dolphin watching trip with Mandurah Ferry cruises on their one hour Dolphin & Mandurah Waterways Cruise on which you will get to see pods of dolphins. Unfortunately on this trip, we did not see a single Dolphin, instead we saw some views plus going past the Ocean Marina where expensive mansions line the Port Mandurah Canals. That was terribly disappointing since we had seen some whales, we would have love to spot some dolphins.

After Mandurah, we headed towards Fremantle for a quick look and for lunch.  A lot of people mistaken Fremantle as a suburb of Perth, but it is a gorgeous little city that warrants a longer visit if you have the time. We were there for one reason, and that is for the famous fish and chips at Cicerello's. It has been an institution since early 1900s and famed for their fish and chips acclaimed as the best in Western Australia. It is situated at Fisherman's Wharf with both indoor and outdoor sitting.

After lunch we headed back to Perth for a quick run before we had to head to the airport for home. We drove quickly round to get a quick look as we weren't that interested in cities, so we headed towards Kings Park which is located on the western edge of the city. It stands over 1000 acre in size and has some lovely views over the Swan River and the city, so definitely worth a visit.

There are plenty to do at the park, ranging from the Botanic Gardens found within the park to a tree top walk to War memorials.

Overall, we had a fantastic time in Perth. Hope to be back again!!!
